  • Mary Brough
    High School Literatures, World History & Government, Latin II, Geometry, Formal Logic, Public Speaking

    Ms. Brough is a midwestern girl, who attended Notre Dame and graduated from Indiana University - Bloomington with a degree in accounting. She worked for Union Carbide in New York and then returned to IU to write computer programs for huge IBM mainframe computers. For the past twenty years, she has been homeschooling her four children. Since 2011, she has taught high school students Latin, logic, literature, debate, grammar, and writing.  In 2017, Ms. Brough won the prestigious award of Top 25 Teachers in Orange County.


  • Boyong Lee
    Algebra II, Calculus, Chemistry, Physics, US History, Latin I, SAT Prep, 8th Grade Latin, 7th Grade Math

    Ms.Bo Lee grew up in North Carolina, where she studied Secondary Math Education. She moved to Southern California to study in a seminary as a missionary. She has been teaching and tutoring students in Math for over 10 years. She was an elementary and a secondary level Math teacher and an elementary Latin teacher at Veritas Classical Academy. She loves working with children and has a passion for raising godly youth leaders.


  • Lois Davis
    7th & 8th Grades, Algebra I

    Mrs. Davis grew up in Boise, Idaho, where she graduated from Boise State University with a BS in Microbiology. After marrying her high school sweetheart, they moved to Changchun, China to teach ESL. Before and after China, Lois worked as a chemist/microbiologist. She has homeschooled her four sons from kindergarten to high school graduation, as well as taught in co-ops for 20 years. As a pastor’s wife, Lois has had experience in counseling and has taught children in Sunday School for 25 years. She loves children of all ages, and loves to see the “lights come on “ when students grasp a new concept in their schoolwork. 

  • Zachary Kirkpatrick
    6th Grade

    Mr. Kirkpatrick was born in Phoenix, Arizona but spent most of his life in Texas where he earned a BA degree from Southwestern Assemblies of God University. He recently moved to California, with his wife, Lauren, and dog, Porter, to pursue a master’s degree in Philosophy from BIOLA University. Before moving to California, he had many opportunities to teach all age groups in Sunday school, Bible classes, apologetics, and youth programs. From these experiences he grew to love education and feels God has called him into teaching as a career. He is passionate about teaching and strives to deliver curriculum that brings an integration of faith and understanding.

  • Melody Pyle
    5th Grade, 5th & 6th Grade Science

    Mrs. Pyle is a Southern California girl, born in the city of Irvine and raised in Huntington Beach. She attended Azusa Pacific University and obtained her bachelor’s degree in Primary Education/Liberal Studies. She earned her teaching credential through the state of California in March, 2015, and is currently working on completing her Masters in Education from Azusa Pacific. She has worked for the Newport Mesa Unified School District as a substitute teacher for the last year, and has tutored English and Math for the last 4 years. She loves working with young people and helping them to discover their passions and God-given talents.

  • Carrie Pihl
    3rd & 4th Grades

    Mrs. Pihl was born and raised in Garden Grove, California, earned a B.S. degree from George Fox University located in Newberg, Oregon, held a Virginia teaching credential, (after living there for 5 ½ years) and currently has an ACSI standard educator’s certificate. She has taught in Christian education for 21 years, and has raised a son and a daughter who have grown into wonderful young adults. Her hobbies include spending time with her husband, classic cars, traveling, gardening and serving in various ministries at church. Teaching is her greatest passion in life and she is humbly honored that God has called her to serve the children and families at ACCA.

  • Jennifer Beckman
    1st & 2nd Grades, 1st - 4th Grade Music

    Mrs. Beckman grew up in Orange County. She went to school at Valparaiso University, IN where she studied elementary education and minored in music. In college, she swam competitively all 4 years and sang for their premiere choir ‘The Chorale’. She has been teaching for the last 5 years and has her multiple subject credential. Besides teaching she is elementary math and voice tutor. Outside of work she enjoys hanging out with her family, friends, and church. She praises God for this opportunity to teach your children and do what she loves. 



  • Rebecca Flora
    Kindergarten

    Ms. Becca is a native to Orange County, born in Fountain Valley and raised until she was 8 in Huntington Beach. She grew up in 3 different countries France, England and the US (her father felt a calling to preach the gospel in Europe). She returned to California
    to complete her BA in Human Development at CSULB. Living in Colorado as a young adult is where Ms. Becca began her career as an educator, initially with preschool age children at the Southern Ute Head Start. She has always had a passion for the service industry whether in the field of psychology, the medical field or through education. She has found her calling while teaching younger children and will finish her Master's in Elementary Education in 2019. Ms. Becca feels blessed and extremely grateful to have the opportunity to work with such motivated and loving children in a Christian environment.


  • Jennifer DeFusco
    7th Grade Latin

    Mrs. DeFusco is from the midwest but raised in So. Cal. She graduated from California Lutheran University with a BA in the French Language and subsequently earned her CA teaching credential at Chapman University. She spent early 1991 in Paris, France, assisting in a church plant. She has taught college and high school French, 5th/6th grades, and tutored. She started homeschooling her and her husband's two children in 2003 and her son graduated from Adelphia in 2015. Their daughter is a current Adelphia student. In her spare time, Mrs. DeFusco loves singing/listening to music, knitting, gardening, sewing, drawing, hiking, camping taking road trips, and would love to go back to college to study art. She loves working with and teaching young people.

  • Lori Augustine
    3rd Grade Literature & Grammar

    Lori Augustine, a Southern California native, grew up in Lakewood. Her inspiration to teach began when she was a teacher’s aide in the Long Beach Unified School district. She received her teaching degree from
    CSULB in 1989. Hired on right away by the Long Beach District, she taught third through fifth grades there for ten years. Jim Augustine married her in 1991. Eventually, she suspended her full-time teacher position to pursue a home-based business and begin a family. She has three handsome boys whom she home schooled for many years. While homeschooling, she was a classroom teacher for Classical Conversations for seven years and also taught many years of Sunday School. She is thrilled to be teaching at Adelphia where her youngest son attends. She delights in seeing how God comes alongside her in her teaching endeavors. 

  • Fabiola Rodriguez
    Pre-Algebra

    Ms. Fabiola was born in San Francisco, CA and raised in Orange County since a baby. She attended UCI where she obtained her bachelors degree in Cognitive Sciences Psychology. Fabiola has been teaching and tutoring students of all ages up to undergraduates for over 10 years. Currently living in Fountain Valley, CA, she enjoys spending time with family, friends and traveling on her free time.



  • TJ Peterson
    PE

    TJ was born and raised in Long Beach, CA. He graduated from CSULB with a degree in communications. TJ is a black belt in Kemp and started doing martial arts in 2005 and teaching in 2009. Since then he has taught martial arts and self defense classes dojos, schools, churches, co-ops, retirement homes and businesses in both North and South America. He also currently works with the U.S. Navy and Marines providing sexual assult prevention training at bases throughout the U.S and. TJ has gone down to Ecuador for the past 9 summers to work with missionaries in the jungle. He is also a Jr high pastor at his church in cypress. He loves working with kids and seeing them grow in their relationship with Christ by using martial arts and exercise to explore different aspects of Christianity.

  • Valerie Barrow
    1st - 4th Grade Dance: Hula

    Valerie was born and raised in Orange Country, CA. She has been dancing since age 2 with extensive training starting at age 10 in tap, ballet, lyrical, jazz, hip hop, hula and polynesian. She currently performs in Luau's and competitions with Hula O' Napualani, will be dancing in the Nutcracker with Dance West Dance Company, as well as has performed and danced with Bethel Ballet Company. She shares her passion and love for dance as a teacher and choreographer of beginner and intermediate dance classes at South Coast Performing Arts and through teaching hula and ballet at birthday parties. 



  • Andy Franks
    High School Bible

    Pastor Andy comes to Adelphia by way of Bridge Community Church where he has served as the Pastor of Student Ministries since 2015. Andy graduated with a BA in Theology in 2010 from Point Loma Nazarene University and then a Master of Divinity degree (MDiv) from Fuller Theological Seminary in 2017. He originally felt a calling toward ministry soon after becoming a Christian in the 10th grade and absolutely loves to see students come alive in their faith, and has a passion for pushing students to pursue a vibrant, transforming relationship with Jesus! Andy was married to his beautiful wife, Natalie, in October 2015, and he loves to surf, read, hike, and embrace being the “fun crazy uncle” with his many nieces and nephews. 


  • Rebecca Benner
    Office Manager, Biology, High School Art

    Mrs. Benner is a California Native, who graduated from OCC and went to CSULB to study art. She was married in 1986 and began working in property management as administrator and then personal assistant to regional property manager for Transamerica Properties. She obtained her real estate license in 1990 and left full time work to be a stay at home mom and began homeschooling in 1995. Rebecca graduated the last of her four children in 2015. She developed a real love for learning while homeschool and is especially passionate about sharing God's handiwork in art, science, and music. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to museums, concerts, movie, and interacting with young adults. She serves at her church in women's ministry and hospitality.

  • DeeDee Wakabyashi
    Receptionist, Front Office

    Mrs. Wakabayashi was born in Albuquerque, NM, but was raised in Orange County, CA. She currently lives in Fountain Valley with her husband, Stan, of 30 years and has 3 daughters aged 26, 24, and 22, and one son-in-law married to her oldest. DeeDee has a long history with homeschooling, being homeschooled herself during her high school years, as well as homeschooled her 3 children through graduation. She also was the administrator of her own homeschool PSP for several years. She currently leads a community group at her church in Irvine, as well as has studied biblical counseling.
